If your engine sputters while driving, there could be a number of things wrong. First if your check engine light is on, take it to Auto Zone and they will test it for you and give you a general idea of what is wrong. If not you start off by giving the car a tune-up if you know it has been more than 50,000 miles since it has had one. After that, or if it doesn't need a tune-up, start by checking
. for vacuum leaks. You can do this by starting the car and spraying carburetor cleaner around the throttle body and/or plenum. If that is where the problem lies, it will idle up for a split second. If it does not idle up, your problem is not a vacuum leak. It could be dirty injectors. You will need a mechanic unless you are mechanical minded and have access to a shop. If the latter is true you will need a manual that can be bought at Auto Zone for under $30. For more information on this check out www.fixya.com
