A hub is considered the major airport that an airline uses for all connecting flights. The hub for Delta for instance is Atlanta. There is more than one hub for US Airways though. There are at least three including Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Phoenix. So they are pretty much covered on the West and East coasts. Sometimes when you fly into a Hub, fairs are lower.
