An abiotic environment includes situations in the environment that have an effect on the surroundings due to non-living situations as opposed to living (Biotic).That being said, this can include sunlight. . sun can penetrate, plankton and other organisms can thrive. Whereas, in the darker depths of the ocean, very limited amount of life exists.Another abiotic example would be ocean currents. This is part of the abiotic environment that can move areas of warm water to areas of cold water. Rocks and sand which can provide cover for oceanic life.Temperature can play a major role in an oceanic environment. A slight temperature change can cause a shift in migratory patterns of organisms seeking out areas of desired temperatures that fit their needs."
