Declaration of Independence Made Simple

The Declaration of Independence was a letter written to the King of England, during the Revolutionary War. In short, it stated that our country wanted to be an independent nation, on its own, without being a part of England. They explained there reasoning by telling the King that they believed that all men were created equal and that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were rights given .
