Abdominal Tightening During Pregnancy

Abdominal tightening during pregnancy is often referred to as contractions. Braxton Hicks contractions are common during the last trimester of pregnancy. Once the water breaks between week 36 - 40 of the pregnancy active labor and contractions begins. The contractions ease the baby into the birth canal where pushing from the mother can begin.
