Teacher aides provide instructional and clerical support for classroom teachers. This allows the teacher more time for lesson planning and actually teaching. Aides assist children in learning the class material by using teachers lesson plans as well as individualized attention. The aides also are supervisors over the students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, hallways, or on field trips. Some
. assistants or aides refer to themselves as Paraprofessionals or Para educators. Teacher aids also take charge of special projects and prepare equipment of exhibits if need be and help by working ion computer labs with educating students in software programs.
