Singular Possessive Nouns

A singular possessive noun is a noun that shows ownership or possession. To show ownership or possession to a noun, you add an apostrophe and the letter s. An example would be boy's shirt, bird's egg or girl's ribbon. But, when the noun ends in s or es, add an apostrophe. An example: James' car or Jones' shirt.
