The following is an example of an outstanding response from a student for the essay portion of Exam #1. Note that not only is it accurate, but that EACH part of the question is addressed. This sample should give you a clear indication of exactly what I'm looking for when grading essays, and will hopefully be helpful in how you approach future exams in my class. The four forces involved are
. diffusion, electrostatic pressure, semi-permeable membrane and the sodium-potassium pump. The ions involved are Cl-, K+, Na+ and protein-. At resting state, the Na+ and Cl- are in higher concentration outside the cell, while K+ and protein- are in higher concentration within the cell.
