If you want to cite a poem in a paper, it first depends on what format your paper must be written. MLA (Modern Language Assocation) is the most common writing style, so that is what we will deal with. If you are citing four or more lines of a poem, it must be indented (block) ten space from the left margin. If you are starting at the beginning of the line, indent as normal, if you are starting in
. the middle of a line use indentions to indicate that words were omitted. if you are in the middle of a line when you decide to omit words, then use ellipses (...) to indicate this. The lines used within the poem should be recorded at the end of the quote.
