Before receiving full qualifications to work as an electronics technician, individuals must prove their skills by successfully completing a certification test. With an entire career resting on the outcome of the test, some pre-test anxiety is not uncommon; however, working on the official practice test beforehand can help reduce stress and improve scores.
The Electronics Technician .
Association (ETA) offers two free practice tests on their website; one of these is for the Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CET) exam. Tests in additional areas are available to members of the ETA.
Another page on the site includes a list of items on each test that the ETA offers. Areas covered on the CET exam include the following: computer electronics and applications, audio and video systems, digital concepts and circuitry, mathematics and formulas, and radio communications technology. A comprehensive list of test topics can be found at http://www.eta-i.org/Comps/AST%20Comps.pdf.
