There is no official minimum score for the GRE. A competitive score to strive for is above 550 for verbal and 700 for quantitative. If you happen to get a slightly lower score but the rest of your application includes great features like secondary studies, etc then don't worry about the score. You should only retake the GRE if your score was significantly lower than what you scored on practice

If everything goes south while you're taking the test and you don't want the score to go on record (once it's logged in the ETS databank the score is there permanently) then you can choose not to see your score when prompted at the end of the test. Your results will be canceled and your performance will not be logged, so neither you nor the school will ever know how you did. Keep in mind though if you choose to cancel that you don't get a refund of the test cost.
