AKA sorority symbol means Alpha Kappa Alpha. It is the first Greek-lettered sorority that was established among African American college women. The sorority also has Asian, Caucasian, Native American and Hispanic women. It was founded on January 15, 1908 about 102 years ago at Howard University. It is a social sorority that is found on most colleges in the United States and Internationally.

The motto of the sorority is "By Culture and By Merit". Their colors are Salmon Pink and Apple Green. The AKA symbol is in the shape of an ivy leaf in green. It is also called the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Shield. It has a two hands shaking at the top of the shield. It has the AKA letters in the center of the symbol, written vertically. Surrounding the AKA letters are four images.
