It has happened to most of us at one time or another. We hit the computer's CD eject and nothing happens! This is usually caused by a dirty or weak mechanism and is an indication to start shopping for a new CD rom, which might be good because you should have a DVD player in there anyway! For the mean time, however, fear not! The solution is simple. In most CD players, if you look really close at
. the face of the unit, you will see a tiny hole in the front next to the door. It's the override mechanical escape trigger. Simply straighten out a paper clip and gently but firmly insert it into the hole and the drawer will release. This comes in real handy when you've removed a CD rom out of your tower and realize, when you're all done, you left an important CD inside! Once you have the door open it's a good idea to spray the insides of the player out with compressed air. Be careful not to disrupt the laser reader!
