There are a few disadvantages to DBMS. First, the cost of the hardware and software that must be upgraded to use DBMS. Another is the cost of data conversion to DBMS. This is also a very difficult process on top of being costly. Staff must also be trained to used DBMS. There may be database damage. Technical staff must also be hired or appointed to take care of upkeep of the database.
