Difference Between Asynchronous and Synchronous

Synchronous is defined as occurring or existing at the same time; having identical periods. Asynchronous is defined as not occurring at the same time. This helps us to clearly see that synchronous and asynchronous are antonyms and mean just the opposite. These two words usually refer to time intervals but can be used generally to refer to any occurrence.
