Closing open ports in windows is simple if you are familiar with computers. To start you will need to go to start and then click on control panel. Once you are in the control panel you will need to double click on network connections. You will now be required to double click on the connection used to access the internet. It may be labeled as local LAN connection as well. You will see Internet
. Protocol, you will need to click on properties. This will reveal a list of TCP/IP configuration options. You will now be required click on option tab and then click the properties. You can then open or close ports here. Check the box that has TCP/IP filtering so that you will be able to utilize whitelisting the capabilities. Select permit only in the box that is labeled TCP. You will now be required to click on the add button to add every port that you have a desire to allow. The others will be disabled and you can click the OK button.
