With the advent of the internet and all the progression it has made recently many schools, colleges, and universities allow their students to check their own grades online. In order to do this one must have a user name and password to access the campus's site. You often can get this by calling the school and they will either mail it to you via snail mail or email. Most cases today they will email
. it to you. This popular method of academic monitoring has even made it the school district I retired from in June. Instructional personnel had been inputting grades on the web for the past few years before I left. Recently this expansion of data collection was made mandatory for all teachers to do. Previously it was only home room teachers doing this now it is every teacher in a building that instructs children. Students can go to their schools website and put their information in and look up grades. This is a great asset for parents as well so they can see how their child is doing way before report cards come out.
