Bittorrent is a distribution protocol. This allows the sharing of very large files on a peer to peer basis. rather than having to download to everyone requesting the file, bittorent works by providing the content to one person who then provides it to others. Clients share peices od the download until everyone has a complete file. There are several bittorrent sites out there on the internet.
