In order to start quick buddy chat users need AIM installed on their computer. They also need a list of friends who also use AIM. After they have this they need to install AOL Instant Messenger. AOL Instant Messenger allows users to create a buddy chat room where multiple friends can a network and communicate in an open chatroom setting. . at the buddy list window and click on the "Actions" tab. Afterwards users should access the "chat" feature and look at the "Buddy List" on the drop-down menu. After users have decided on who they want to chat with they need to send a Buddy chat invitation. To send invitations to multiple people users have to separate every name on the buddy lost with a comma. If a user wants to customize their buddy chatroom before sending the invitation they can re-name the room and send the invite. Once all buddy invitations have been sent a chat room window will appear with filing, editing and viewing options. Users can customize the view of their chat room window. All those users that have accepted the invitation will appear in a panel on the right. As other buddies accept the invitation the list panel refreshes. When sending a message to buddies users can modify the color, size and style of the text. If additional friends want to be added to the room all they have to do is enter their screenname to the particpants list. during certain times If users do not want to quick chat all they need to do is adjust their settings and go offline.
