Employee turnover is not pleasant thing for organizations. Employee turnover is the result of dissatisfaction with jobs or working situations. Some professions experience high employee turnover because of the stressful nature of the jobs. Those include nursing, teaching and other jobs that tend to be high stress. Younger people whether professional or blue collar tend to move from job to job. They are not content with staying in the same position for several years and as a result they try different types of jobs. Employee turnover can cost organizations, especially when experienced employees leave. This requires retraining of new employees who may take a year or more to learn job duties.
