A deluge valve is valve that holds back water from piping. Most commonly used in sprinkler systems, but deluge valves are also used in shower systems. The valve can be manual or automatic. When used in a sprinkler system, a person can manually operate the alarm valve or if automatic features are installed heat and smoke will trigger the alarm valve to open and water flow in.
