There are two methods used for the conversion of timber; the Through and Through (also called Plain or Crown Sawn) and the Quarter Sawn. The Quarter Sawn is the more expensive method but the more decorative and is less prone to distortion. The Through and Through produces more timber that is tangentially sawn.
