If your set of numbers had an even number of numbers, then you would find the median by taking the two numbers in the middle, adding them together, and then dividing by 2. For example, if your set of numbers was 1,2,3,4,5,6, then you would take 3 and 4 (the two numbers that are in the middle), add them together (which would get you a figure of 7), then divide this figure by 2 to find the median (7/2=3.5).
