Assertiveness role plays in getting the job you want and the pay. Sometimes you just have to take the reigns and be assertive. No one is going to give you the job or the pay if you don't ask. The worst thing that they could say is no. It is better to have asked then to not have and always wonder if you would have been more assertive if you would have gotten the job or pay raise.
