A cinquain is a poem that comes in 3 different forms and each form follows a pattern. In the one of the formats the first line contains 1 word, the second line has 2 words, the 3rd line has 3 words, the 4th line has 4 words and the 5th line has 1 word. In the 2nd format the first line has a noun, the 2nd line is only 2 adjectives, the 3rd line is only 3 words ending in -ing, the 4th line is a
. phrase, and the 5th line is another word for the noun that was in the first line. In the 3rd format each line has a certain amount of syllables. In the first line there's 2 syllables, in the 2nd line there's 4 syllables, in the 3rd line there's 6 syllables, in the 4th line there's 8 syllables, in the 5th line 2 syllables.
