Psychological barriers to communication come in a couple varieties. First, emotional issues may impede communication. For example, if a person .

If a person is particularly nervous, such as is the case with social anxiety and fear of public speaking, communication may be affected. If a person knows that something they need to communicate will be unpopular or taken poorly, communication may be likewise hindered. The second variety is perceptual problems.
