Nearly all of these types of sites, as well as members-only sites, require registration and subsequent member log on each time you attempt to access the site. To register with a site in order to access its content, simply fill out the registration information that the site requests. This data usually includes name, address, email address, security questions and sometimes a phone number. The information required varies from site to site. Also as part of registration, one must create a user or member ID and a password. The user or member ID should be something that is easily remembered. It can be a name, nickname or an inside joke. The password, however, should be hard for others to guess. Avoid using birthdays, ages or consecutive letters or numbers.This information should be written down and put in a safe place for quick reference. Once the registration is complete and the user ID and passwords are established, the site will likely send an confirmation email to the user's email account. The user then clicks the link within the confirmation email, which brings the user back to the site they are attempting to register with.
