Finding your IP address is very simple. Every device connected to the public Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 127.0.0.1. On a Windows OS, the IP address can be found by entering ?ipconfig? at the ?command? prompt in the Accessories menu. On a Mac OS10 the Ip can be found under the Apple menu in ?system preferences.?
