The Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS) is a non-profit organisation seeking to improve and promote a high standard among Informatics Professionals in recognition of the impact that Informatics has on employment, business and society. CEPIS represents 37 Member Societies in 33 Countries across greater Europe.

One of the aims of CEPIS is to provide a coordinated European voice that is able to represent the views of European Informatics Professionals on major issues to European Institutions. Such purposes should not prejudice the non-profit status of the member societies.

CEPIS produces a regular publication called UPGRADE, which has two main sections: a monograph on ICT subjects, and an UPENET section which contains selected papers from the UPENET network of publications.

In addition, CEPIS publishes a number of reports and positioning statements on an annual basis which are available for download from this section.
