Saturday, June 7, 2008, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson appeared at the 11th Annual Talkers New Media Seminar "Talk Radio and Race" panel. The panel was made up of five liberals and Rev. Peterson (the sole conservative). Al Sharpton was scheduled to be on the panel, but he didn’t show or call. Michael Harrison, founder of TALKERS, was the moderator for this event. What followed was a heated discussion about the role of race in talk radio. The liberal black panelists proceeded to attack Rev. Peterson for his conservative views and association with talk radio star Sean Hannity.
