Tabernacle in the Wilderness

Lesson Points

Point 1: God specified exactly what was needed for the Tabernacle in order that He could dwell amongst His people.
Point 2: God's specifications also told the people what they were to offer and how to make the offerings.  God wanted His people to make their offerings with a willing attitude.
Point 3: The Tabernacle was built with a lot of careful, intricate work; work that only had value because the Lord was with them and was in support of the project.
Point 4: Even though the Tabernacle had considerable glory, it is such a wonder that God made His presence known in such a humble place.  God also made His presence known to the Israelites while journeying in the forms of the cloud and the fire.

Notes: God knew that the day would come when He forsake the Temple. The Lord Jesus' words while here on Earth were; "Your house is left unto you desolate" (Matt. 23:38; Luke 13:35).  It is such a tragedy of God when He leaves us to falter onwards on our own.
