ECW Rankings - Brief Article

1. JUSTIN CREDIBLE

Credible is proving to be a respectable ECW champion, but his reign seems to be missing something. He will need a few more title defenses against reputable challengers to ascend to the status of past champions such as Taz.

2. TOMMY DREAMER

No one has ever doubted Dreamer's loyalty to ECW, and his title match against Credible at Heat Wave reinforced that. Dreamer's back has held up surprisingly well, but there is no telling when it could go out.

3. ROB VAN DAM

Although still the most recognizable star on ECW's roster, Van Dam's recent matches have not been against stellar competition. Perhaps reigniting his feud with Jerry Lynn will get fans excited again.

4. RHINO

It wasn't too long ago when a match involving the television title meant something. Now it appears the belt and Rhino are lost in the shuffle. Still, Rhino is a talent to be reckoned with.

5. KID KASH

Kash is rapidly making a name for himself in ECW. A high-flying performer in the truest sense, Kash leaves fans in awe with his vast army of aerial antics.

6. JERRY LYNN

Lynn seems to be totally recovered from the ankle injury that sidelined him for the start of 2000. He now has set his sights on ECW gold. Can anyone besides RVD pose a threat to Lynn?

7. STEVE CORINO

Corino again proved to be an excellent company man as not only did he job to Lynn at Heat Wave, he also wore the proverbial crimson mask. This guy needs to be rewarded with a shot at a belt and a title run.

8. SCOTTY ANTON

Anton is a serviceable performer in a federation devoid of real star power. A possible feud with Van Dam will raise his stock even higher.

9. SANDMAN

Sandman's brawling tactics have always been popular with the fans. Although he has been an occasional problem in the locker room, you can't find fault in his efforts in the ting.

10. YOSHIHIRO TAJIRI

Once the ECW world television champion, Tajiri seems to be falling back into the rest of the pack. After a tremendous showing at Heat Wave, perhaps his stock is again on the rise.
