Overview
The Public Health Training Program aims to promote excellence
in public health practice in Lebanon and the region, provide
training which is responsive to the needs of the public health
workforce through need-based capacity building of public health
practitioners, and develop a system to monitor and evaluate
the activities of the Public Health Training Program to enhance
participants' knowledge, attitudes, skills and practice.
The Public Health Training Program main objectives are to (i)
identify, by the end of 2007, the public health workforce training
needs in Lebanon and the region, over the next 5 years, (ii)
offer, over the next 5 years, diverse, relevant, multidisciplinary,
and financially sustainable training activities, in order to
contribute to the building of local and regional public health
workforce capacities, (iii) develop, by the end of 2007, a marketing
plan and strategy in order to reach increasing numbers of individuals
and organizations over the next 3 years, (iv) increase, over
the next 5 years, the diversity of participants (gender, socio-economic,
professional profile, etc.) in training activities through seeking
funds for sponsorship, and (v) establish, by mid-2008, a monitoring
and evaluation protocol for courses and overall program activities |
