Since I fully expect that, when the servers come down for the expansion-day patch in just over 8 hours, the SOE forums may end up sludged like wild, I am reprinting this information that was mentioned in a post there, and found on EQ2 Players:

EverQuest II's fifth expansion, The Shadow Odyssey, launches on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Here's a quick rundown on what to expect on launch day.

11:59 PM PST on Monday, November 17, 2008: The pre-order process will be turned off. You have until this time to place a pre-order in the station store for the digital download and still qualify for the in-game items.

12:01 AM PST on Tuesday, November 18, 2008: The magic starts happening. The servers for all regions will come down and the new data will be pushed out to the live servers.

6:00 AM PST: The Community Relations team gets into the office and checks in with the dev team and starts posting updates on the forums!

12:00 PM (noon) PST - This is the estimated magic hour when we anticipate having the servers up and running for all of you to experience The Shadow Odyssey!

From there on out it's all about enjoying the expansion!

Should you experience any difficulties with your pre-order or retail goodies Customer Service will be ready to assist you! You can contact CS one of three ways:

November 15, 2008 - Weekend Updates!

I am sure many of the devs are either w*rking or on-call all weekend, doing last-minute polishing before the Tuesday release of the Shadow Odyssey expansion. Not to be outdone, Mum and Kaisha are still busy with research, images, and writing. While I still want to remind folks to check back regularly to see what has been changed with the TSO Crafting Preview (there's an update summary near the bottom), I will freely admit that there is just so much information there that it can be a bit overwhelming, even to someone who has spent a lot of time in beta. With that in mind, I have also put together a TSO Crafting Quick Reference guide that will contain links to the appropriate guides for the various quests, etc. Again, as mentioned before, I won't be announcing every single addition or change on the forums or the front page of the site, but will be updating the Peview and Quick Reference guides as appropriate.

November 06, 2008 - Burning the Midnight Oil

The SOE folks are working like fiends on the upcoming expansion, and the EQ2TC folks are, too! As promised, I am chipping away at various linked articles for the TSO Crafting Preview, with significant assists from Kaisha with regards to images, quest note details, etc. It isn't yet noon here, but I already have several things of note today as I follow along in Kaisha's wake: Kaisha took a brief break from working on all the images and notes that go with all these writeups to bring you a bit of humor with a new Komic! I so resemble this one ... repeatedly! The red glowie article has been updated with images of the two new collections that will become available on Nov. 18 larger versions of the crafted faction furniture images are now available, like this lovely Tuptan Lamp Post I am sure there will be more additions and updates as the day goes on, so make sure to check the TSO Crafting Preview article regularly!

I will not be posting every time that I update the Shadow Odyssey Crafting Preview. November 04, 2008 - TSO Crafting Preview

The Shadow Odyssey expansion is just around the corner (two weeks!), and we have the scoop on some of the crafter-love contained within it! Check out this TSO Crafting Preview for details, a humorous look at the expansion from Mum's skewed, perspective, a new crafter mount, the first-ever pic of Mum actually in-game wielding a rolling pin, and more! Remember to check back regularly, as more will be added to the main preview and/or added as support documents over the next two weeks!
