Victor E. Velculescu is a Romanian doctor and scientist. He is Associate Professor of Oncology at The Johns Hopkins University.
After graduating from Stanford University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences, he enrolled in the M.D./Ph.D program at The Johns Hopkins University. Velculescu and his team gained international recognition after identifying the genes that cause breast cancer and spine cancer. His objective was to reveal the genes that cause cancer and find out when they become active.
