Tim Green

Timothy John Green (born December 16, 1963) is a former linebacker and defensive end with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, a commentator for National Public Radio, the former host of A Current Affair on Fox, and a best-selling author.

Biography

Green was born in Liverpool, New York. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1986 with a degree in business administration, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002. He was the Falcons' first-round draft selection in 1986 and played for them through 1993.

Green graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 1994. He has written suspense novels and other books and has served as a color commentator for the NFL on FOX. His book Football Genius made The New York Times best-seller list of children's chapter books.

Green has been reported to be considering a run for elective office in 2008 -- a campaign for the New York State Senate seat in the Syracuse area currently held by Republican John DeFrancisco.
