Theodahad
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This SourceTheodahad (d. 536) was the King of the Ostrogoths from 534 to 536 and a nephew of Theodoric the Great through his sister. He might have arrived in Italy with Theodoric and was an elderly man at the time of his succession. Witiges ordered him killed, and succeeded him as king.
In L. Sprague de Camp's alternative history novel Lest Darkness Fall, Theodahad is portrayed mostly as feeble-minded, vain, craven monarch, uninterested in the affairs of the State and too infatuated with his own literary endeavours.
