The Life of Charlotte Bronte
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This SourceThe Life of Charlotte Bronte is the posthumous biography of Charlotte Brontë by fellow novelist Elizabeth Gaskell. However, though quite frank in places, Gaskell suppressed details of Charlotte's love for Constantin Heger (1809–1896), a married man, as being too much of an affront to contemporary morals and as a possible source of distress to Charlotte's still-living friends, father and husband.
