The Jamie Foxx Show

The Jamie Foxx Show is an American television sitcom that aired on the WB Network from August 28, 1996 to January 14, 2001. The series starred comedian Jamie Foxx, Garrett Morris, Ellia English, Garcelle Beauvais, and Christopher B. Duncan. The show is airing in syndication on The CW Television Network.


Jamie King (Jamie Foxx) is an aspiring musician from Terrell, Texas who has come to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. He then puts his career on hold to work in his family's hotel The King's Tower, which is owned by his Uncle Junior King (Garrett Morris) and his Aunt Helen King (Ellia English). He has two co-workers: The sexy, smooth talking Fancy (Garcelle Beauvais), constantly wearing tight tops and short skirts, and the odd nemesis Braxton (Christopher B. Duncan), the straight man who generally serves as the brunt of Jamie's jokes.




  • Jamie Foxx won the NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" in 1998, and was nominated again each of the next three years. The show was nominated for "Outstanding Comedy Series" in 1999 and 2001.


DVD releases

Warner Home Video has released Season one of The Jamie Foxx Show on DVD in Region 1 for the very first time. It is highly unlikely that more season DVDs will be released due to poor DVD sales for the first season.
