Super Mario: Blue Twilight DX is a non-profit fangame based on Nintendo's Super Mario series. It was released on July 30th, 2005. The game is a 2-D platform game created by game designer Ryan Bloom using the Clickteam Multimedia Fusion software authoring tool. It has been downloaded over 300,000 times and was featured on G4 television's Attack of the Show.
During his quest, Mario must brave a haunted forest, a graveyard, a haunted house, a gigantic pumpkin patch, sunken ships, a clocktower, Bowser's castle, and eventually the mysterious Halloween castle. Mario must also battle old and new enemies which include King Boo, the Pumpkin King, and Giga Bowser until he finally reaches his goal of rescuing Peach and defeating the evil Count Dracula.
Throughout the game, Mario is pitted against many traditional Mario series enemies with a Halloween twist, as well as several familiar bosses including King Boo, Kamek, and Bowser. This game also features Giga Bowser which appears after the regular Bowser is defeated. The bosses of the two secret stages are not from the Mario series, and one of them (the Pumpkin King) is an original creation.
Most of the music in the game stems from various Mario titles; notably Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and Super Mario World. Music was also reused from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!.
