Strata (band)

Strata released two independent EP's before their major-label debut. In 2001, under the name Downside, they released the nine-track EP "Sleep," and in 2003 the seven-track EP "Now the Industry is Outnumbered. Their Factories are Burning Down," under the name Strata.
In 2004 they released their eponymous album on Wind-up Records. The album was featured on the Billboard "Top Heatseekers" chart, where it peaked at number forty-one.
Their first single, "Piece By Piece" was featured on the soundtrack for the movie The Punisher, and the video game Madden NFL 2005. Another song "Never There (She Stabs)" was featured on the soundtrack of the movie Elektra. Music videos were made for their two singles "The Panic" and "Never There (She Stabs)".
On January 19, 2008, vocalist Eric Victorino announced that he was leaving the band, stating that he wanted to explore his creativity, and encouraging fans to "let this be a time of growth and evolution, a celebration of the past eight years and anticipation of what's to come." According to the group's official Myspace page, the remaining three members of Strata are staying together despite Victorino's departure.
The End of the World
The band is finished with their second album titled, "Strata Presents The End of the World," which hit stores on July 17, 2007. The first single, "Cocaine (We're All Going to Hell)," and "Stay Young" off of their new album are currently available on Strata's MySpace page, Strata's Pure Volume Page, and Strata's home page
As of January 30, 2007, Strata's first single, "Cocaine (We're All Going to Hell)," has been made available through digital retailers such as iTunes, Yahoo! Music and Napster.
On November 27, 2007, the music video for "Stay Young" premiered on the band's PureVolume site.
Tour
In September 2007, Strata toured with Kaddisfly, The Panic Division, and The Last Opera. The tour was their first Co-headlining tour and will cover most of the U.S West Coast.Strata toured the West Coast (CA,WA,UT,CO,TX,OK,AZ.They were not able to play in Idaho due to a snow storms.) of the U.S. starting November 29, 2007 in Orangevale, CA and ending December 16,2007 in San Francisco,CA. The band lineup on this tour were Team Sleep,Monster in the Machine
, and Sonny Moore
, formerly of From First To Last.
