Strange Boutique was a band from Washington, D.C. that was part of the harDCore scene. They were active between the years of 1987 and 1994 and released 4 full-length albums and 2 live albums on the Bedazzled Records label. They are also featured on several compilation albums. Monica Richards, the lead singer of Strange Boutique, later went on to form the underground band, Faith and the Muse.

On Saturday, July 3rd, 2004, Strange Boutique celebrated a brief reunion in Washington, D.C. The band played at The Black Cat with This Ascension and Siddal.

Currently, Fred E. Smith lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He legally changed his name to FREAK. He is still playing music with a new band called BLAXMYTH, which is an off-shoot band formed by the late Dennis "D-Roc" Miles called PITCH BLACK that was an off-shoot band of BODY COUNT that featured rapper ICE-T. BLAXMYTH is currently winning more and more new fans since their 2nd place finish on BODOG MUSIC'S BATTLE OF THE BANDS late in 2007 that was on FUSE. In December, 2001, Fred AKA Freak recorded a demo with William Faith, one leader of another off-shoot band of STRANGE BOUTIQUE, that also featured Monica Richards. The demo which has been largely unheard, unless you are in his close circle, features two more songs recorded a year later, the band name is called AMERICAN CORPSE FLOWER (A.C.F.).
