Stomu Yamashta (born Yamashita Tsutomu, 山下勉, 15 March 1947, Kyoto, Japan) is a Japanese percussionist, keyboardist and composer. He is sometimes credited as Stomu Yamash'ta.
He has played with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra and the rock group Come to The Edge. He studied jazz drumming at the Berklee School of Jazz. He has composed for the British Royal Ballet, for the soundtrack of the David Bowie film The Man Who Fell to Earth and for Ken Russell's The Devils.
He was a member of the supergroup Go along with Steve Winwood, Al Di Meola, Klaus Schulze, and Michael Shrieve.
