Special visceral afferent

Special visceral afferent (SVA) refers to afferent nerves that develop in association with the gastrointestinal tract. Examples of nerves containing SVA fibers include the olfactory nerve, the facial nerve, the glossopharyngeal nerve, and the vagus nerve.
