The band was originally named Villanelle when it was formed by Byron Goggins (drums), John Graham (bass guitar), Michael Johnston (lead vocals), Lee Moody (guitar), and Danny Stephens (keyboards). The band achieved recognition with their eponymous first album, released in 1997. Despite line-up changes, the band has managed to stay active and relevant for more than ten years, releasing three albums on Ardent Records and one on BEC Recordings. The band is currently on hiatus after their fourth studio album called It's Later Than It's Ever Been.
