- Berekah haShelah - a name used in the Book of Nehemiah to refer to the Pool of Siloam (berekah means pool).
- Rav Shela, a senior Babylonian Rabbi at the turn of the 3rd century.
- Shelah haKodesh, a nickname for Isaiah Horowitz, a 16th century Jewish mystic.
- Saharon Shelah, a 20th century Israeli mathematician
- Shelah, the 37th Parshah
- Shela, a song by Aerosmith
The name Shelah is also a homophone of:
- Salah - referring to a figure in the Biblical genealogy of Abraham, where he is listed as the father of Eber. According to the masoretic text's version of the genealogy, this Salah was the son of Arphachashad, but according to the Septuagint version he was the son of a man named Cainan, and only the grandson of Arphachashad.
- Saleh - referring to a prophet sent to the Thamud according to the Qur'an. This Saleh is often identified with Shelah, the biblical son of Judah.
- Sela - the historic name for Petra.
