Shayne Bower was best known as the professional wrestler Biff Wellington. He hailed from Lloydminster, Alberta.
Bower trained with the Hart Brothers, but he mainly trained with Mr. Hito and Mr. Hase.
International Tag Team titles
Bower competed as Biff Wellington and frequently tagged with Chris Benoit
. In 1989, Wellington and Benoit beat Makhan Singh
and Vokhan Singh
to become the Stampede Wrestling
International Tag Team Champions. In June 1992, he and Benoit appeared in WCW
at the Clash of the Champions
XIX, representing Canada
in the NWA World Tag Team title
tournament; they were defeated by Brian Pillman
and Jushin Liger
in the first round. This was Bower's biggest expsoure in North America by competing in WCW.
Biff Wellington had a brief stint in ECW
. He sustained an eye injury in a freak accident in a match against Taz
in 1996. Wellington then became dependent on prescription medication
to prevent nerves in his eye from dying.
His parents found his body at his home in bed on June 24, as they were concerned because they had not heard from him since June 20.. Medical officials examining the body believe he had been dead for a few days, believed initially to be due to a heart attack
, as he had suffered numerous strokes in 2006. He was found dead on the same weekend as his former tag team partner Chris Benoit
, and coincidentally is believe to have died on the same exact day.
