scrunchy) is a fabric-covered elastic
hair tie, commonly used to fasten
long hair. Large, elaborate styles and diminutive, unassuming forms are available.
The scrunchie was invented by Rommy Revson, who patented the design in 1994.
Variations
The scrunchie comes in many different varieties of colors, fabrics, sizes, and designs.
Trivia
- The scrunchie was ridiculed in an episode of Sex and the City by Carrie, who declared that New York women would never be seen wearing a scrunchie in public.
