On September 6, 2000 Sheldon became the third player in MLB history to play all 9 positions in a single game, joining Bert Campaneris (Kansas City Athletics, September 8, 1965), Cesar Tovar (Minnesota Twins, September 22, 1968) and later that year he was joined by Shane Halter (Detroit Tigers, October 1, 2000), in the select list of nine-position players in the same game. No National League player has ever done it. Sheldon started in the 4th inning and performed the feat in just 5 frames.
In his 141-game career Sheldon batted .235, with 8 home runs and 33 runs batted in.
