Gaétan-Jean Sébastien Lefebvre Pépin (born 5 June 1981) often referred to as
Sebastien "Seb" Lefebvre, is a
French Canadian musician, who is best known as the rhythm guitarist and vocalist for
pop punk band
Simple Plan. Lefebvre grew up in
Laval,
Québec, and used to work as a janitor at his old high school; Collège Beaubois in
Pierrefonds, Quebec.
Lefebvre's surname is properly pronounced, among French speakers, "le-fave", but English speakers generally pronounce it "le-fevra". He has commented on the difference, without pronouncing the French, in his podcasts. On the DVD A Big Package for You, he pronounces it "le-fever" when he introduces himself; however the other band members can be observed smirking as he does so.
Early life
Lefebvre grew up in Laval, Québec with his parents and three siblings. He is very close to his older brother, Jay Lefebvre. He also has two younger sisters, Andrée-Anne and Héloise. Jay is mentioned in the album "Still Not Getting Any..." credits as well as the "Simple Plan" credits and on the Man Of The Hour website and MySpace, where he is thanked for "catering". Lefebvre's parents divorced when he was in high school. Both remarried, according to the "Simple Plan" credits where he thanks "My four parents." His mother, Lorraine Pépin, works as a children's psychologist and social worker in East Montréal and his father, Jean Lefebvre, works at Human Resources in Central Québec.
Man Of The Hour
Man Of The Hour is an online radio show that features Lefebvre and Simple Plan's
webmaster,
photographer, and
videographer Patrick Langlois. It began as a side band that included himself, Patrick Langlois and
Bowling For Soup's leading man, Jaret Reddick, though no songs were ever actually recorded. However, T-shirts and other promotional items were made. With no spare time to devote to developing the band, it turned into the radio show they have today; "Man of The Hour Hour", on idobi radio.
